In this episode, Lisa discusses the importance of raising "perfectly imperfect" children and how to bounce back from mistakes. She emphasizes the need to teach children that making mistakes is a normal part of life and that it's okay to fail, as long as they learn from their mistakes and use them as opportunities for growth. Lisa also shares practical tips and advice for parents who want to help their children build resilience and self-confidence, and develop a growth mindset. Whether you're a new parent or an experienced one, this podcast offers valuable insights and perspectives on raising happy, healthy, and resilient children.
About Lisa
As the mother of two grown daughters, a former teacher and running coach, a parenting author, and radio show host, Lisa understands, firsthand, how challenging it is to raise kids in today’s hyper-competitive world where everyone’s trying to be perfect. And her takeaway: Embrace your perfectly imperfectness and welcome the mistakes you make because it’s within those screw ups that we learn resilience.
She's also a survivor of suicide loss, losing her father at age 10 to an apparent heart attack, only to discover, 35 years later, that he had taken his own life. And it's her lifelong relationship with grief and loss that's become her "why" for sharing her story. Because she believes there's strength and healing to be found within our shared experiences.
Lisa is the mom friend you need in your life immediately! Her juicy nuggets of wisdom, calm voice of positivity, and practical tools for navigating momlife make her someone that parents everywhere can relate to as they navigate the pitfalls of parenthood.
